Tinderbox Toys & Trinkets started trading in March 2009 in a corner of a fairtrade shop.  Within a year Tinderbox took its own premises on Earlsdon Street to accommodate its range of classic wooden toys and beautiful gifts.

1st Birthday

Tinderbox is owned by Tilly and Sam who between them have a brood of four children, who at the time of starting the business, were under the age of five.  Tilly & Sam have a passion for finding quality toys to play with in the company of  their children.  Finding unique toys was not easy …. so whilst their little ones toddled around them at playgroup, they hatched a plan to create a gorgeous toy shop in their hometown of Coventry where parents (and their friends and Relatives!) could shop with their little ones.

Tilly and Sam enjoy meeting customers and providing them with a good personal service.  The staff team is completed by Marcie, a  local Mum who also shares a sound knowledge of the products and a committment to assisting customers with their selections and orders.

Time and care is taken in choosing a range of unique products and reliable suppliers.  The shop offers a  superb range of toys and gifts at varied prices for all occasions.  Two of the main wooden toy suppliers John Crane and Marbel (Plan Toys) use recycled sustainable wood.  Lanka Kade, a fair trade company who produce wooden toys and room accessories, is also available.  Tilly & Sam will only stock toys and gifts that they like themselves and their children have lots of fun testing out new toys at home!

The wooden toys are out on display in the shop, along with soft toys and keepsakes for babes, for customers to pick up and look at.  Little ones can also do a bit of picking up and playing at the toy table.  For online shoppers the website displays and represents the products  in the best way possible for customers to make their choices.
